Getting started with LeadCall
Set up LeadCall in minutes: create your account, install the Android app, connect Zoho CRM, and sync your first call — no forwarding required.
What you need
- One or more Android 8.0+ work phones
- A LeadCall manager account for your company workspace
- Zoho CRM access with admin role (required to approve OAuth permissions)
Step 1 — Create your manager account
Registration happens in the LeadCall dashboard. You will set up your company and manager login in a single guided form.
- Open the LeadCall dashboard and choose Create account.
- Enter your company name and select your country. The country is auto-detected via browser geolocation on first load and can be overridden with a searchable dropdown. The country setting drives national vs. international call classification in stats and exports — choose the country where your business operates.
- Complete the manager account fields (name, email, password).
- Submit the form once. The flow prevents duplicate submissions and shows clear errors if something needs fixing.
Password requirements
As you type your password, a strength indicator shows whether it meets the rules: at least 8 characters, at least one uppercase letter, at least one number, and at least one special character. Weak passwords cannot be submitted. The same rules apply when you change your password later.
Step 2 — Download and install the Android app
The Android download link is managed by the LeadCall team and shown inside the app as a QR code and a download button. Share that screen with sales reps so they install the correct build for your workspace.
- On the work phone, open the LeadCall app download screen (from your onboarding email, dashboard invite, or an existing device already signed in).
- Scan the QR code or tap the download button to get the current Android app.
- Install the app, then open it.
Mandatory app updates
When the LeadCall team publishes a required update, the app checks for it on every launch. If your installed version is behind the required version, a prompt appears with release notes and a direct download link. You must update before continuing — this lets critical fixes roll out without waiting for app store review.
Step 3 — Sign in and pair the device
- Sign in with the rep's LeadCall credentials (created by your workspace admin).
- Grant the Call Log permission when prompted — this is the only permission LeadCall requires.
- The device will appear in your manager dashboard under Devices and Command Center within a few seconds.
- Optionally assign a nickname to the device (e.g. "Front Desk", "Ahmed's Phone") so it is easy to identify in Command Center, call logs, exports, and the sync review queue.
- On first launch, the setup wizard asks how far back to sync call history. See Choosing your sync date range for details on each option.
Call Log permission is required
Without the Call Log permission, LeadCall cannot detect any calls. If you accidentally denied the permission, go to Android Settings → Apps → LeadCall → Permissions and enable Call Log. No microphone, SMS, contacts, or location permissions are needed or requested.
Step 4 — Connect Zoho CRM
- In the manager dashboard, go to Settings → Integrations.
- Click "Connect Zoho CRM".
- You will be redirected to Zoho's OAuth login page. Sign in with your Zoho admin account.
- Review and approve the requested permissions (Calls, Leads, Tasks read/write).
- You will be redirected back to the dashboard. The integration status should now show "Healthy".
Use a dedicated service account
For production workspaces, connect Zoho using a dedicated service account rather than a personal admin account. This prevents disruption if the admin's credentials change and makes it easier to audit which records were created by LeadCall.
Step 5 — Assign device types
- Go to Command Center or Devices.
- Open a device configuration panel and choose either "Campaign phone" or "Sales-rep phone".
- For campaign phones, add the business phone/SIM label and campaign metadata. Use a
Lead Sourcerow for the value that should be written to Zoho (for exampleGoogle Ads · May). - For sales-rep phones, use the device for callback and recovery. Switching a device to sales-rep mode clears its active campaign assignment.
Step 6 — Map sales reps to Zoho users
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Team.
- For each LeadCall rep, select the corresponding Zoho CRM user from the dropdown. Zoho users are fetched live from your CRM.
- Click Save to apply the mappings.
Verify the first sync
Make a test call to one of the configured campaign phones. Within a few seconds, a new Lead and Calls activity should appear in Zoho CRM for an unknown number. If nothing appears after 30 seconds, open Settings → Integrations and check the sync review queue for pending, failed, duplicate, or ambiguous rows.
Frequently asked questions
How long does LeadCall setup take?
Most teams connect Zoho CRM and sync their first call within an hour. You create a manager account, install the Android app on a work phone, approve OAuth in Zoho, and assign a campaign source to the device.
Do I need call forwarding to get started?
No. LeadCall captures calls directly on Android work phones. There is no forwarding, tracking number pool, or phone-system integration required to start syncing calls to CRM.
Which CRM can I connect on day one?
Zoho CRM is live today. Connect it from the LeadCall dashboard with OAuth, then map owners and campaign sources before your first synced call.
What do I need before installing the Android app?
You need an Android 8.0+ work phone, a LeadCall manager account, and Zoho CRM admin access to approve the OAuth connection.
